Low Orbit · Last updated September 27, 2026
Low Orbit collects no data of any kind, about you or anyone else. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting service and no third-party software development kit. Its App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected.”
What is collected
Nothing. Low Orbit never asks who you are, and nothing about how you use it is measured, recorded or shared.
Network access
Low Orbit makes no network connections of any kind. Every image, every elevation model, every description and the optional music track are bundled with the app, and it works exactly the same with your Apple TV offline. It does not contact any server, including one belonging to the developer, because there is none.
What is stored on your Apple TV
A handful of your own settings, so the app looks the way you left it: which worlds to tour and which one you were last on, whether labels, descriptions and music are on, the surface and lander options, the render resolution, and whether statistics are shown. They are kept in the app's private storage on your Apple TV, are never sent anywhere, and are deleted when you delete the app.
No purchases, no advertising
Low Orbit has no in-app purchases and no advertising, and contains no analytics, tracking or advertising frameworks. No data is used for tracking.
Crash reports
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your Apple TV's privacy settings, Apple may send anonymous crash reports. That is Apple's system, you control it, and the app adds nothing to it.
Imagery and data credits
The imagery and elevation data in the app come from public-domain and openly licensed sources published by NASA, ESA, JAXA, USGS and their partners. Using the app does not send any of those organizations anything about you. Full credits are listed in the app under Settings › Credits & data sources.
Children
Low Orbit is rated 4+. Because it collects no data at all, it collects no data from children either.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, for example because a future version adds an optional online feature, the new policy will be published at this address with a new revision date before that version ships.
